You don't have to go to extremes to get fit. Anyone looking at the fitness plan of Hugh Jackman may give up before they've barely begun. The key to a fitness plan? Be realistic.
If you're looking for a fitness plan, it's probably best to avoid the fitness plans and extreme regimes of high profile movie stars. If you want to look like Madonna or Hugh Jackman, you could be setting yourself up for failure at the first hurdle. Unless you have plenty of money, and empty days to fill, the reality of a fitness plan needs to be rooted in the reality of your life. If you consider how Hugh Jackman achieves his toned physique, you'll realise how dedicated to a fitness plan you need to be to achieve and maintain such a muscular physique.
Hugh Jackman's Gruelling Fitness Plan
Talking to the press, Australian actor Hugh Jackman said that to achieve his physique he needs to follow an intense fitness plan - getting up at 4am to eat egg whites, he then has to eat protein with steamed vegetables and brown rice every three hours, after midday he cuts out the carbohydrate (rice) and sticks to just vegetables and meat or fish. His fitness plan involves exercising six days a week - it's extreme, time consuming and takes the kind of will power only a multi-million salary could muster. Jackman is paid to get so buff to tackle roles like Wolverine for the X-Men franchise. His fitness plan demands the strict diet - he told the press he trains for an hour and a half five days a week: "Then I do what my trainer calls ’a play session’ on the sixth, which previously would have killed me in itself."
Yin and Yang: Healthy Eating and a Fitness Plan
Even those who have to be fit for a living can slip with the odd indulgence - especially over the festive period. There is only one way to lose weight and gain muscle, and that's with a fitness plan: eat less, exercise more. But you don't have to be Hugh Jackman or Madonna or become a manic workout machine to get into shape. Losing weight and toning up is simple, you need to consume fewer calories and exercise more (3,500 calories is the equivalent to one pound on, or off, your body).
As well as a simple, workable fitness plan that involves walking; running or toning programmes, consider eating in a 'pyramid' style, with higher-calorie meals at the start of the day, and light meals for dinner. Even if you don't want to cut out certain foods, the golden rule is to eat less and in moderation. As well as eating less, get moving more.
